Safety Information

In line with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety (GPSR), below are the safety guidelines for electrical plugs and switches used in pallet trucks.

Application

Electrical plugs and switches are part of the pallet truck’s electrical system. They enable safe power connection, transmission of control signals and activation of functions such as drive, lift and emergency stop.

Hazards

• Risk of electric shock due to incorrect connection or working under power.
• Risk of short circuits and damage caused by loose contacts, abraded insulation or moisture ingress.
• Fire hazard from overheated contacts or damaged enclosures.
• Risk of unintended start/movement due to switch malfunction.

Safe Use

1. Installation, replacement and repairs must be performed by qualified personnel only.
2. Disconnect power and prevent accidental start-up before any work.
3. Routinely inspect housings, contacts and cables; replace cracked, corroded or overheated parts immediately.
4. Ensure secure seating of plugs and switches; avoid looseness and vibration that can cause arcing.
5. Protect against water, oils and chemicals; use components with an appropriate ingress protection rating.
6. Do not modify or make makeshift connections outside of approved connectors.
7. After installation, verify drive, lift and all safety functions (including emergency stop).
8. Store spare parts in a dry, clean place away from heat and UV exposure.

Disposal

Treat used or damaged plugs and switches as electrical/electronic waste. Dispose of via authorized collection points in accordance with local regulations. Do not discard with household waste.
