Safety Information

In line with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety (GPSR), below are the safety guidelines for an electrical wire harness for a pallet truck.

Application

The wire harness is part of the pallet truck’s electrical system, transmitting power and control signals between components. It enables proper operation of drive, lift and safety systems.

Hazards

• Risk of electric shock due to improper installation or work under power.
• Risk of short circuits and damage if insulation is abraded or wires are misconnected.
• Fire hazard from overheating, insulation damage or inadequate harness securing.
• Risk of loss of control caused by signal interruptions or loose connectors.

Safe Use

1. Installation, removal and repairs must be performed by qualified personnel.
2. Disconnect power and prevent accidental start-up before any work.
3. Inspect insulation, sheathing and connectors; replace damaged/overheated/corroded parts immediately.
4. Route harnesses along designated paths, avoiding crush points, abrasion and sharp edges.
5. Provide strain relief (ties, clamps, grommets) and respect minimum bend radius; do not overstretch cables.
6. Protect from moisture, oils, greases and chemicals that may degrade insulation.
7. Do not modify, splice or solder outside of approved connectors.
8. After connection, verify continuity and correct operation of all functions.
9. If burning smell, sparking or excessive heating occurs, power down immediately and contact service.
10. Store in a dry, clean place away from heat and UV exposure.

Disposal

Treat wire harnesses as electrical/electronic waste. Dispose of through authorized collection points in accordance with local regulations. Do not discard with household waste.
