Safety Information
In line with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety (GPSR), the following rules apply to the safe use of bearings.
Application
Bearings are rolling elements used in pallet trucks and forklifts. They enable smooth rotational motion of components (wheels, rollers, mast parts) while reducing friction and wear.
Hazards
- Damage to the truck or other assemblies when using worn or unsuitable bearings.
- Possible seizure of movement and loss of stability with a damaged bearing.
- Risk of injury during installation/removal (pinching, sharp edges).
- Failure and overloading due to inadequate lubrication or improper operation.
Precautions
- Inspect bearings regularly and replace if wear, noise or play is detected.
- Use appropriate tools and protective gloves during installation/removal.
- Use only bearings that meet the equipment manufacturer’s specifications.
- Ensure correct lubrication as specified in the operating manual.
Disposal
Dispose of worn bearings via metal waste collection points or authorised recyclers. Do not dispose of with household waste.
