Safety Information

In line with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety (GPSR), below are the safety guidelines for electronic push buttons used on pallet trucks.

Application

Electronic push buttons are part of the control panel. They activate truck functions such as travel, lift, lower, horn and emergency stop. Construction typically includes a plastic housing, tiny springs, electronic components and lead wires.

Hazards

• Risk of electric shock due to damaged insulation or incorrect wiring.
• Risk of loss of control if a button fails or jams (no response).
• Mechanical hazards — small springs/contacts may loosen and cause internal damage.
• Risk of short circuits/overheating if moisture or debris enters the button.
• Damage from excessive actuation force, impacts, oils and chemicals.

Safe Use

1. Installation and replacement must be carried out by qualified personnel only.
2. Disconnect power and prevent accidental start-up before any work.
3. Do not disassemble — very small springs and contacts are easily lost or damaged.
4. Regularly check for smooth, delay-free actuation and return.
5. Inspect leads and connectors for secure seating; loose contacts can cause arcing and false signals.
6. Protect against moisture, dust and chemicals; keep the surrounding area clean.
7. After replacement, test all associated functions (travel, lift, emergency stop, etc.).
8. If overheating, burning smell or no response occurs, power down immediately and contact service.

Disposal

Treat used or damaged electronic buttons as electrical/electronic waste. Dispose of via authorized collection points in accordance with local regulations. Do not discard with household waste.
