Safety Information

In line with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety (GPSR), below are the safety guidelines for control units/controllers used in pallet trucks.

Application

The control unit/controller manages the drive, lift and safety systems of the pallet truck. It receives signals from sensors and switches and sends commands to actuators.

Hazards

• Risk of electric shock during installation, removal or diagnostics while energized.
• Potential permanent damage due to overvoltage, short circuits or incorrect wiring.
• Risk of component overheating leading to failure or fire.
• Risk of loss of control if the controller is damaged or malfunctioning.
• Risk of damage from moisture, dust, oil or aggressive chemicals.

Safe Use

1. Installation, replacement and repairs must be carried out by qualified personnel only.
2. Disconnect power and prevent accidental start-up before any work.
3. Do not open the housing; electronic components are not user-serviceable.
4. Use only solutions compatible with the electrical system parameters and proper wiring.
5. Routinely check connectors and terminals; loose contacts may cause arcing and overheating.
6. Ensure adequate ventilation; do not block cooling openings and keep away from heat sources.
7. Protect from moisture and contamination; keep the installation area clean.
8. If malfunction occurs (blinking LEDs, no response, burning smell), power down immediately and contact service.
9. Do not modify circuits or firmware without proper authorization.
10. Store modules in a dry, clean place in anti-static packaging.

Disposal

Treat used or damaged controllers/modules as electrical/electronic waste. Dispose of via authorized collection points according to local regulations. Do not discard with household waste.
