Safety Information
In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 (GPSR), the following rules apply to the safe use of fuses for forklifts and pallet trucks.
Application
Fuses protect the vehicle’s electrical system against overloads and short circuits, safeguarding wiring, controllers and other components.
Hazards
- Electric shock risk when replacing fuses without isolating power.
- Damage to the electrical system if the wrong fuse type or rating (A/V) is used.
- Fire risk due to overheated contacts, loose connections or bypassing.
- Sudden system failure if a critical circuit blows.
Precautions
- Carry out all work with engine off and power disconnected.
- Select fuses strictly per manufacturer specification (type, current, voltage, curve).
- Install in the correct slot with clean, firmly seated contacts.
- Do not bridge circuits or use makeshift conductors.
- Protect the fuse box from moisture, oil and contaminants.
Maintenance
- Periodically inspect and clean holders and contacts.
- Replace blown/heat-damaged fuses immediately after fixing the cause.
- Check circuit load if blowing recurs.
Disposal
Dispose of used fuses as WEEE/e-waste in accordance with local regulations.
