Safety Information
In line with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety (GPSR), please follow the rules below for the safe use of ignition modules in forklifts.
Application
Ignition modules control the ignition in internal combustion engines by delivering a spark at the correct time. They are suitable for various engine types (Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, GM, Mitsubishi, etc.) and may include wiring, distributors, coils.
Hazards
- Starting or ignition issues when using incorrect or damaged modules.
- Risk of spark ignition leading to fire if fuel vapour is present.
- Electric shock risk during installation/removal if ignition is live.
- Possible damage to electrical or control systems from incorrect wiring or short circuits.
- Engine failure and potentially dangerous situations during forklift operation.
Precautions
- Use only modules that meet the manufacturer’s specifications (model, wiring, pin configuration).
- Install/remove only with engine off and ignition off; use insulated tools and gloves.
- Check contacts and insulation before installation; avoid dirt and damage.
- Connect cables as per the manual; avoid mechanical stress and short circuits.
- Use over-current/short-circuit protection and secure fitting to prevent sparking.
Disposal
Dispose of worn or damaged ignition modules via WEEE collection points. Do not dispose of with household waste.
