Safety Information
In line with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety (GPSR), the following rules apply to the safe use of pins in pallet trucks and forklifts.
Application
Pins connect structural parts of the truck such as the frame, rollers, tilt cylinders or wheel mounts. They allow rotational or tilting movement and ensure the correct functioning of the lifting and driving mechanisms.
Hazards
- Damage to the truck structure when using unsuitable, defective or incorrectly sized pins.
- Loss of stability, vibration or play, leading to sudden movements of components.
- Risk of injury during installation/removal (crushing, cuts, hand injuries).
- Risk of corrosion or breakage due to poor lubrication or excessive wear.
Precautions
- Use only pins that meet the manufacturer’s specifications (diameter, length, material).
- Inspect regularly for wear, play, deformation and corrosion.
- Use appropriate tools and protective gloves during installation/removal.
- Provide lubrication in line with the service manual.
- Do not use pins with visible damage or excessive wear.
Disposal
Dispose of worn or damaged pins through metal waste collection points or recycling companies. Do not dispose of with household waste.
