Application
The power steering cylinder is a hydraulic component that assists steering, reduces effort required to turn the wheels and improves steering precision.
Hazards
- Risk of hydraulic fluid leaks leading to loss of control.
- Burns or injuries from high-pressure hydraulic oil.
- Steering failure if the cylinder is defective.
- Environmental pollution from oil leakage.
Precautions
- Maintenance only by qualified personnel.
- Switch off engine and depressurise system before work.
- Use components compliant with manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain oil cleanliness and system tightness.
- Replace damaged parts immediately, no temporary fixes.
Maintenance
- Regularly check seals, piston rod and cylinder ends.
- Replace seals and worn parts at first signs of wear.
- Monitor hydraulic oil level and quality.
Disposal
Dispose of used cylinders and components at metal, rubber and oil waste collection points in line with local regulations.
