Safety Information
In accordance with EU Regulation 2023/988 on General Product Safety GPSR below are the safety rules for the use of safety belts
Application
The safety belt is intended to secure the forklift operator against being ejected from the cabin in case of vibrations or overturning.
Main hazards
- Loss of belt effectiveness if material is damaged, torn, corroded or worn
- Impact forces in an accident if the belt is not properly fastened or tensioned
- Risk of injury due to improper routing or positioning of the belt
- Failure of fastening points under load
- Material weakening caused by chemical exposure or UV radiation
Safe use
- Use only belts compatible with the forklift model and manufacturer specifications
- Inspect belt, buckle, adjuster and mountings before each use
- Fasten and tighten the belt properly before moving the vehicle
- Do not use the belt if there are visible damages or loose mounts
- Do not modify the belt or its brackets
Installation and service
- Installation and replacement must be performed by qualified personnel
- Use original fasteners and screws per manufacturer instructions
- After installation check the buckle operation and belt tension
Maintenance and inspection
- Regularly inspect belt material, stitching, buckle and fixings
- Clean belt according to manufacturer’s instructions, avoid harsh chemicals
- Replace the belt if torn, worn or lost elasticity
Operating conditions
- Use belt within intended purpose and load limits
- Avoid exposing belt to extreme temperatures, UV light or chemicals
- Do not operate the vehicle with a loose or damaged belt
Storage and transport
- Store belts in a dry and clean environment
- During transport protect the belts from twisting and damage
Disposal
- Dispose used belts as textile and metal waste at suitable collection points
- Recycle metal components (buckles, fittings) if possible
Important information
The safety belt is not intended for modification. If damage or malfunction is detected, immediately stop using and contact service.
