Safety Information

In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 (GPSR), the following rules cover the safe use of steering knuckles (zwrotnice) for forklifts.

Application

The steering knuckle is part of the steering and running gear. It transfers steering input to the wheels, ensuring precise handling and stability.

Hazards

• Loss of steering control from play, cracks or wear of pins/bearings.
• Damage to tyres, brakes or hub due to improper installation.
• Injury risk when working under an unsecured/unsupported vehicle.
• Corrosion and seizure leading to steering lock-up.

Precautions

• Installation and service by qualified personnel only.
• Before work: switch off engine, secure the truck and use proper stands.
• Use parts to manufacturer spec; tighten fasteners to specified torque.
• After replacement, check wheel alignment and brake function.
• Maintain correct lubrication; keep bearings/pins clean and sealed.

Maintenance

• Periodically inspect play, bearings, pins, seals and mountings.
• Replace immediately if cracks, corrosion or excessive wear are found.
• After service, perform a test drive and re-check fasteners.

Disposal

Dispose of metal components via scrap collection; rubber/seal parts per local regulations.
