Before purchase

CHECK CARRIAGE CLASS COMPATIBILITY
MATCH PROFILE DIMENSIONS TO LOAD DIMENSIONS
VERIFY FORK LENGTH IN RELATION TO THE REQUIRED SUPPORT SURFACE
How to check the carriage class and fork condition before replacement?

Before selecting forklift forks, the fork class according to ISO 2328 must be confirmed. In classes 2A and 2B, the distance between the upper and lower hook is approximately 407 mm. This value must be verified by measuring the forklift carriage (between the upper and lower hook), checking the nameplate, or consulting the technical documentation. The letters A and B indicate the hook type (hook profile), while the height remains the same within a given numerical class. Choosing the wrong class prevents safe fork installation.

Before replacement, the technical condition of the existing forks should also be assessed. Forks must be replaced if the thickness of the working section has decreased by approximately 10% compared to the nominal dimension, if there are cracks in the hook area or at the heel, or if permanent deformation or twisting of the profile is present. Cross-section wear leads to an actual reduction in forklift load capacity and may be questioned during a UDT inspection.

FAQ
CAN FORKS BE REPLACED INDIVIDUALLY?

No. Forks should be replaced in pairs to ensure even load distribution and forklift stability.

WHEN SHOULD FORKS BE REPLACED?

In case of permanent deformation, breakage, twisting, or significant cross-section wear. Damaged forks should not be used further.

WHAT DO CLASSES 2A AND 2B MEAN?

Carriage classes 2A and 2B are designations according to the ISO 2328 standard, which defines the dimensions and spacing of the mounting hooks for forklift forks. In classes 2A and 2B, the distance between the upper and lower hook is approximately 407 mm; the difference concerns the mounting profile (hook type). The carriage class must match the fork class to ensure correct and safe installation.

IS A SAFETY LOCK INCLUDED WITH THE FORKS?

Yes. A locking pin is included with the forks to prevent them from slipping off the forklift.
