In accordance with EU Regulation 2023/988 on General Product Safety GPSR below are the safety guidelines for the use of forklift seats
Application
The forklift seat is intended for the operator while driving. It provides ergonomics cushioning and safety during operation.
Main hazards
- Risk of injury in case of seat structure failure or malfunction of adjustment mechanisms
- Loss of operator stability if the safety belt or locking mechanism is defective
- Risk of back injuries when using a damaged or improperly adjusted seat
- Risk of finger entrapment during incorrect use of adjustments
- Corrosion and material wear may weaken the structure
Safe use
- Use only seats compatible with the forklift model and manufacturer specifications
- Check technical condition, mounting and adjustment functions before operation
- Use the seat belt if fitted
- Do not operate the forklift with a damaged or unstable seat
- Adjust the seat settings to the operator’s height and position
Installation and service
- Installation and replacement must be performed by qualified personnel
- Use original bolts and fasteners according to manufacturer instructions
- After installation check seat stability and all functions
Maintenance and inspection
- Regularly check upholstery and cushioning
- Verify proper functioning of height, backrest and sliding adjustments
- Keep the seat clean and avoid contact with oils and chemicals
Operating conditions
- Use the seat according to its intended purpose and load capacity
- Do not operate with a loose or improperly mounted seat
Storage and transport
- Store seats in a dry and clean place
- During transport secure against shifting and damage
Disposal
- Dispose of used seats as composite waste at collection points
- Plastic foam and textile parts must be disposed of according to local regulations

The forklift seat is not intended for modification. If any damage or malfunction is detected stop use immediately and contact service.
