Safety Information

In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on General Product Safety (GPSR), below are the rules for the safe use of the alternator for forklift trucks.

Application

• Part of the forklift’s electrical system, responsible for generating electricity and charging the battery during engine operation.
• Powers the electrical system and vehicle components.

Hazards

• Risk of electric shock if handled improperly or when working with the engine running.
• Possible damage to the electrical system if connected incorrectly.
• Risk of overheating and fire due to short circuit, faulty voltage regulator or damaged cables.
• Risk of mechanical injury from the rotating pulley of the alternator.

Operating conditions

• Use only alternators that match the forklift’s technical specifications.
• Do not use damaged, burnt, or worn components.
• Protect from excessive moisture and dirt.

Installation and connection

• Installation should be carried out by qualified service personnel.
• Disconnect the battery and ensure the wiring is free of short circuits before connection.
• Ensure proper belt tension – too loose or too tight may damage the alternator.
• Connect cables acc
